The landscape design for Perryian Works will create a pocket natural oasis in an urban setting.
The proposals include several seating areas among outdoor courtyards, beautiful green public spaces and tree planting, and water features to curate areas which are comfortable, safe, visually captivating, and environmentally friendly. It will represent a significant Biodiversity Net Gain for this currently concrete-heavy site.
Expansive pathways will encourage residents and the public to move through the space easily whilst enjoying the naturally rich environment at Perryian Works. It will create an added routeway through to nearby areas, such as addressing the unused western entrance to Aston University.
In keeping with this vision, natural design will be incorporated throughout the buildings.
Together these elements will help future-proof the area and support the ongoing transformation of Birmingham into a liveable, green, connected city, as reflected in the Our Future City Framework Plan 2040 which sees Central North, in which this site sits, as a key part to this sustainable vision.
